Ruby Cheung, Children Minister
Ruby was born and raised in Hong Kong. She became a Christian in her high school year! Since then, she was growing in faith in the Bethlehem Church of Hope Mission and serving actively in the youth ministry. She prayed to God to devote her life to serve HIM full time in 1992 while she was in her post-graduate study in Melbourne, Australia. She intimately encountered God in a wonderful way! The next 6 years after going back to Hong Kong, she kept the same prayer to wait for God to open door for her in His good timing. She continued to serve actively in her home church and helped to start the youth fellowship for their sister church, Shafolk Gospel Church, in 1994, and was sent in a pioneer team to start a new sister church, Lee On Gospel Church, in 1996. Finally in 1998, God opened door for her and she got admitted into Talbot School of Theology, CA, to pursue her M. Divinity (majoring in Evangelism & Discipleship). Since then, Grace Haven has become her home church in the States. She started serveing as an intern in 1998 and became full time English minister in 2002. After becoming a wife and a mother, she switched to be the Children Minister (part-time) in 2005.
As a children minister of the church, besides coordinating & overseeing the children ministry for both Chinese and English congregations, she devotes to minister to the children workers as well as the children parents in order to co-work as a team to help their children to know Christ and to be His faithful followers. Her personal mission statement is “being a beloved daughter of God as chosen before I got to know HIM, I will serve HIM and glorify HIM by displaying my own life before people and share with them whatever I know and experience in God, my Heavenly Father.” She loves to chat and enjoys sports, traveling, watching movies and reading (especially Romantic novels)!!!
